The Importance of Seeking Knowledge in Islam

Knowledge occupies a special place in Islam. The very first revelation sent to our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ began with the command:

“Read in the name of your Lord who created.” (Surah Al-‘Alaq)

This teaches us that seeking knowledge is not merely an option but an important responsibility for every Muslim. Through knowledge, we learn how to worship Allah correctly, improve our character, and fulfil our duties towards our families and communities.

At Madressa Muhajireen wal Ansaar, we strive to cultivate a love for learning in every learner. Islamic knowledge helps us distinguish between right and wrong, strengthens our relationship with Allah, and guides us through the challenges of daily life.

Parents play an essential role in encouraging the pursuit of knowledge. By supporting regular attendance, revision, and participation in Madressa activities, they help create an environment where learners can thrive.

Knowledge without action is incomplete. Therefore, our goal is not only to teach information but also to inspire learners to practise what they learn through good manners, honesty, respect, and service to others.

May Allah grant us beneficial knowledge, sincere actions, and the ability to pass these treasures on to future generations.

Ameen.
